Every truck's CAN/J1939 network should already have 2 terminating resistors, used to create the network. In order to connect one of our devices (PULSE or GWY) we need to access the CAN network on the vehicle as well. To do this we can either 1) "T" into the diagnostic port (typically a 9-pin deutsch connector) which does not involve the terminating resistor, or 2) 'Jump' onto the CAN network... We jump onto the network by removing the OEM terminal resistor, use a 'jumper' cable to access the CAN network with our Y. Our Y cable will have a new terminating resistor to replace the one we removed, and will also access the PressurePro device to allow data communication.
